Simon Cowell has been keeping busy while recovering from his e-bike accident and watching his latest show 50 States to Stardom to air on CBS. The show is said to be “the next big music competition series.”

Simon Cowell has a new TV show in the works

Starring Simon, the series will be produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, the founders of Imagine Entertainment. They are currently in talks with Simon’s label, Syco Entertainment, to finalize their deal.

The premise of the show is “Mixing music competition and documentary formats, 50 States to Stardom aims to discover great emerging talent from all parts of the country,” according to Deadline. “Filmed in a television studio and on location, over the course of one season, the series will showcase every state in the United States and its up-and-coming artists. Using immersive and cinematic styles, the series tells the stories and reveals the issues for featured candidates.

Ultimately, only one candidate will be chosen from each state, leading to a large showcase. The idea is to find America’s biggest star with a little help from American votes.

The show 50 States to Stardom is looking for a diverse cast of talent. A contestant does not need to be an experienced or professional singer to participate in the show. They could be in the high school theater or performing in cafes. Wherever they come from, they can be a huge talent to be reckoned with on the show.

Is the concept similar to another show?

It looks like another show that is currently running, American song contest. The show that promises to find talent from all 50 states is a new version of The Eurovision Song Contest slated to premiere around the holidays in 2021.

According to Yahoo! Entertainment, “Professional musical artists – solo singers, duets or groups of up to six members – from each of the 50 states and all musical genres will perform all original songs during the live televised event.” Artists will go head-to-head with the winners advancing to the next round until they make it to the Grand Finals.

The concepts of both shows seem similar. So far, it has not been announced which network the American song contest will be broadcast.

Simon Cowell’s ‘AGT: Champions’ show won’t return to its regular timeslot

NBC has confirmed that Simon’s other show “AGT: Champions” will not return in January. It aired in the winter for the past two seasons. The show is not canceled yet, so there is a chance that it will be filmed and aired at a later date. It’s just one of many hits the producer and judge has taken this year after suffering his e-bike accident.
