BBC responds to allegations of rape on set of cooking show

The BBC has responded to an allegation of sexual assault made by a member of staff on the set of the cooking show, hungry for her.

An employee of the BBC cooking show, hosted by Stacey Dooley, has alleged she was raped while filming the TV series, according to a report in The sun.

In a statement, the woman alleged that the attacker forced himself on her after he broke into the room she was in.

The incident is believed to have taken place while filming the BBC Three cooking show in September 2021 in central London.

A BBC spokesperson responded to the allegations and said: “BBC Studios have robust processes in place to ensure that any member of our staff or freelancer who may have been the victim of a crime receives all appropriate support. necessary and that the matter is handled with the utmost seriousness and care.”

City of London Police were also contacted about the incident nine days after the alleged attack by another police service.

They added: “Investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time. The female victim is currently being cared for by specially trained officers.”

The sun further reports that a crew member contacted the entire crew to say that with “deep regret” there was a “sex allegation during production”, and asked the staff not to say more on the situation while the police investigate the allegation.
