‘Beyond The Edge’: CBS is planning a ‘Survivor’ type reality show with celebrities | Entertainment


SCS getting ready for a new one Survivor-like a reality show as she prepares to send a group of celebrities out into the wild for an all-new round of competition.

As first reported by TMZ, the network reportedly filmed the show in Bocas del Toro, Panama last September and October. Celebrities rumored to take part in the series include The single person Star Colton UnderwoodNBA icon Metta World Peace, Full house actress Jodie Sweetinformer NFL star Ray Lewis, The Real Housewives of New York alum Eboni K. Williamsand model Paulina Porizkova.

Variety indicates that the program name is beyond the edge and will be produced by Renegade 83, the team behind Naked and scared. The company has also produced past reality shows such as blind date and surreal lifewhich also involved celebrities living together.

CBS has yet to confirm or deny the series, and details remain thin on the exact format, though TMZ indicates that it will be similar to Survivor. Deadline also reports that Survivor animator and showrunner Jeff Prost is potentially on board the series as an executive producer.

There has been talk of a celebrity version of Survivor in the past, but it never materialized. In 2016, Probst spoke to Weekly entertainment on Celebrity Survivor’s potential and how they could possibly make it work.

“I think the only way celebrity survivor works if for some reason there was an event…. – a perk or something where enough celebrities have said, “Okay, I’ll give you six days.” And we will do six episodes. We will vote for someone every night. I think we could do it,” the Emmy-winning host explained.

While Survivor has yet to do an outright celebrity edit, various famous faces have competed on the regular version of the show, including facts of life alum Lisa WhelchelNFL coach Jimmy Johnson, former WWE wrestler John Morrison and late NBA star Cliff Robinson.
