Chef Alcorta “featured San Antonio” on renowned cooking show

Another local chef represented San Antonio this week on the Food Network.

Chef Margeaux Alcorta, Director of Culinary Operations at Jason Dady Restaurant Group, appeared on “Chopped”, the James Beard award-winning Food Network show. The episode “Time Capsule”, which aired Tuesday, challenged Alcorta and her fellow competitors to create appetizers, main courses and desserts using ingredients that were popular in the 1960s, such as grapefruit soda and the pan of wieneroni.

That kind of versatility is part of Alcorta’s daily skills in her role in Jason Dady’s restaurants. Dady told MySA that Alcorta oversees “all aspects” of its five restaurants and catering business.

Dady said online that Alcorta had withdrawn from the hustle and bustle of a viewing party, but he shared the news on Facebook and continued the praise in his statement to MySA.
