Colors launches new local talent show “Hunarbaaz – Desh Ki Shaan”

Colors has announced the launch of a new local show, “Hunarbaaz – Desh Ki Shaan”, which aims to provide talented prodigies with a platform to showcase their extraordinary “hunars” and fulfill their dreams. The announcement comes after India’s Got Talent, the Indian adaptation of the international format titled “Got Talent” which is created and owned by Syco and Fremantle, was transferred to Sony Entertainment Television from Colors earlier this year.

‘Hunarbaaz- Desh Ki Shaan’, produced by Frames Production, will premiere on January 22, 2022 and air every Saturday-Sunday at 9 p.m.

The show promises to open its arms to all who have talent, transcending all boundaries of religion, gender, socioeconomic status, geography, or physical ability.

Directing the show and taking charge of feeding these “hunarbaaz” and their crafts will be the mainstays of Bollywood; actor Mithun Chakraborty, filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Parineeti Chopra.

Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa will host the show with their comedic style.

The round of auditions for ‘Hunarbaaz- Desh Ki Shaan’ saw an array of talent crossing different genres. From flautists, acrobatic dancers, stand-up artists, rappers, beatboxers, magicians to gymnasts and many more hidden talents, the show will be filled with a powerful lineup of never-before-seen acts.

The show will empower the live audience to choose their favorite ‘Hunarbaaz’ and be the ‘super judge’. For any contestant, 70% of the weighting of the overall score will rest with the live audience, while the judges hold 30% of the weighting. To qualify, each competitor must achieve a combined score of 80%.

The channel designed a marketing and digital strategy for “Hunarbaaz-Desh Ki Shaan”. Digitally, the campaign will be conducted through fan and influencer engagement activities.

To put ‘hunar’ in the limelight of the Colors TV universe, daily shoutouts will be given to several talented people on the platform through the ‘Hunar Hour’ activity.

On launch day, Colors TV’s social media handles will ring out in a 24-hour celebration featuring different types of “hunar” hourly across the page and ultimately leading the audience to the show’s grand launch.

As part of the influencer engagement, top influencers will create videos showcasing their “hunar” and invite audiences to upload talent videos as well.

These videos will be further amplified via influencers on platforms namely Takatak, Moj, Josh and Instagram.

Additionally, a 10-day campaign has been planned to promote the wide range of talents through the airing of promos on Hindi News, Hindi Movies, Hindi Music, Kids and Regional Genres. Launch day print ads are planned in key markets targeting top publications through a combination of broadsheet and premium positioning ads.

Meanwhile, the ninth season of India’s Got Talent premieres on January 15 and airs every Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m. on Sony Entertainment Television.
