Craig David is slated to be a judge Simon Cowell’s new ITV talent show, Walk The Line.
The Seven Days hitmaker is believed to join the music mogul on the panel and make his debut on the series when it launches later this year.
A source said Metro.co.uk: ‘Craig David is an icon of the UK music industry – but as relevant today as he was when he burst onto the scene in the early 2000s.
“He’s appeared on Simon’s shows before – and he’s widely respected – so it would make perfect sense for him to be involved in Simon’s new show.”
It has already been confirmed that Maya Jama will be presenting Walk The Line.
“If anyone told me, describe your dream job, it would be this one!” Maya got excited. “I literally couldn’t be more excited to work with Syco, Lifted Entertainment and the amazing ITV team on Walk The Line.”
Walk The Line will see a variety of musical acts, solo artists, choirs and groups compete for win the grand prize of £ 500,000, but there’s a catch: the longer an act lasts, the bigger their prize pool will be, as they will then have to compete against a new set of musicians.
The two acts judged the best each week have to decide whether they want to take some of the money and quit the competition or cross the line to take the next step.
Simon’s latest project was confirmed days after he decided to spend more time on The X Factor after 17 years.
With the show serving as the launching pad for some of the biggest names in music such as One Direction, Little Mix and Olly Murs, we can’t wait to see who the next global superstar in the making will be.
Walk The Line will debut on ITV later this year.
