FSHS holds an annual talent show and competition

The annual FSHS Talent Show and Miss(ter) FSHS Pageant was held March 25 at Fort Scott High School.

The event, organized by Thespians and hosted by seniors Christina King and Ashlynn Bagnall, awarded cash prizes to the top three competitors. Senior Tina Ramirez won first place for singing “She Used to Be Mine” from the musical “Waitress.” Junior Ella McElroy won second place for her original song accompanied by ukulele. Third place went to sophomore Jericho Jones for his original piano rendition of a medley of Elton John songs.

Eleven senior men represented clubs and sports teams in the Miss(ter) FSHS contest. The winner, by a round of applause, was Shakira Shakira (Shekhar Gugnani) representing America’s future business leaders.

Proceeds from the event will help Thespians attend the International Thespian Festival June 20-24 at Indiana University. Senior Christina King and second Regen Wells will both compete in the Festival’s monologue category.
