restaurateur Waco and Upper Fixator Star Joanna Gaines is officially back on the air with an all-new cooking show that just debuted this weekend.
Called Magnolia painting, the new show shares its name with Gaines’ beloved Waco restaurant and best-selling cookbook. The show was announced in December and will feature Gaines teaching his round table-obsessed fans how to make Magnolia Table’s famous cookies, as well as more personal recipes like his family’s fatayar or pies à la Lebanese meat.
The show premiered this weekend on Food Network with a behind-the-scenes special and its first two episodes, but expect Magnolia painting to finally find its way to the Magnolia network, a television channel that Gaineses is expected to launch this year in partnership with the Discovery network.
Even though most of Gaines’ sidekicks have known her from reality TV, she had a major impact on Waco and its food scene. Currently, Gaines and her husband, Chip, operate several restaurant-focused businesses, including the ever-popular Silos Baking Company, Magnolia Table, and a cafe called Magnolia Press. Restaurants and shops attract tens of thousands of tourists to Waco each year.
