New this year at the Merry on Main’s Talent Show is a chance for the 18 and over winner to perform on stage with David Lee Garza at the downtown “Merrier on Main” street dance show on December 4 PHOTO WITH AUTHORIZATION

Atascosa County has played host to some of the country’s biggest stars. George Strait was born here. Willie Nelson worked at KBOP radio. Jerry DeLeon is currently on the country charts. Poteet native David Lee Garza and Los Musicales are award winning fan favorites. Who will be the next star of this community at the Merry on Main Talent Show organized as part of the two-day Christmas festival?

The Merry on Main Talent Show Committee is officially accepting audition videos for this year’s Merry on Main Talent Show held at Pleasanton River Park on December 3.

“We are delighted to announce that we have added another youth category this year,” said Terri Cuevas, Merry on Main committee member, owner of Country Girl Designs. “Additionally, in addition to the cash prize, the winner of the over 18 group will have the chance to perform at the ‘Merrier on Main’ street dance show and concert with David Lee Garza on December 4th.”

The age groups are 5-10, 11-17 and 18 and over. Merry on Main is looking for all types of singing, dancing and acting talent. The top seven nominees chosen from video auditions in each age group will perform at the Merry on Main Talent Show. The prizes per age group will be 1st place $ 300, 2nd place $ 200 and 3rd place $ 100.

The talent show will be hosted by the one and only Cleto Rodriguez! Showcase your talent and submit your 1 minute video to [email protected] for consideration. Video entries must be sent on November 7th. The video should include name, age, category of performance (vocal, comedy, instrumental, dance, etc.)

New this year is an additional prize for the over 18 winner who will perform with David Lee Garza at the “Merrier on Main” dance and street concert after party on December 4th in downtown Pleasanton .

The Merry on Main committee warmly thanks Cuevas and Country Girl Designs for also providing the cash prize for the adult and teen group and to John Mayse of JM Connected for providing the funds for the 5-10 year olds.
