Music, food, talent show, outdoor mass, carnival rides planned for La Fête des Bayous festival | Ascent


Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church will host its sixth annual La Fête des Bayous festival from October 27-30, 2022 at 44450 La. 429 St. Amant.

The Bayous Party kicks off with a family night featuring Boo with the badge from 5-7 p.m. -or-treat, games, food and carnival rides! There is no cost to be a Boo trick-or-treat seller. Trick-or-treating will open from 4-5 p.m. for children with special needs who may be sensitive to large crowds. Plus, La Fête’s annual talent show, Talent After Dark, kicks off at 6 p.m. and features local talent.

The 4th Annual La Fête 5K Nuns Run will be held on Saturday, October 29. The Spirit of the Festival will follow at 9 a.m. This showcase of spirits will also include a talent show and Spirit School Shout Out. A new Craft Marketplace will be held from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

SugarShakers will headline the weekend lineup on Friday nights from 7-11 p.m. Saturday programming includes Kenny Cornett at noon, That 70s Band at 5:30 p.m. and Foret Tradition at 9 p.m. begin at 1:30 p.m. to close the festival weekend.

A special outdoor mass is at 10 a.m. Everyone is invited to bring lawn chairs for the mass.

In addition to La Fête events, the weekend will also include jambalaya and okra cookouts, mini potty cookouts for kids, live and silent auctions, carnival rides, games, activities fall fun, including a hay ride and pumpkin patch, and food. “Early Bird Special” wristbands are available for a limited time to purchase for $60.
