NBCUniversal Launches Proprietary OTT Reality Platform Hayu In India

Hayu, NBC’s international subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service, will now target the growing group of Indian viewers addicted to reality TV content.

The company launched its ad-free SVOD platform on a direct-to-consumer basis on a range of platforms such as mobile, TV, tablet, laptop, and select consoles.

The platform has collected over 8,000 episodes of top reality TV content, including all seasons of Keeping Up With the Kardashians and its spinoffs, as well as many other franchises like The Real Housewives, Top Chef, Million Dollar Listing and Family Karma. The content covers the genres of real crime, home and design, cooking, dating and fashion.

While several OTT platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and Disney + Hotstar offer reality TV shows, none focus exclusively on this genre.

Hayu has become a popular virtual reality service in many international markets. Reality TV fans can purchase a three month prepaid pass for Rs349 or fpr per year for Rs999.
