Simple life, extravagant marriage?

Peacock announced on Wednesday that it has placed a serial order at Paris in love (working title), a 13-part docu-series that will follow entrepreneur / activist / DJ Paris Hilton as she prepares to “walk down the aisle with the man of her dreams, venture capitalist Carter Reum” , culminating in the big day itself. Of course, Hilton is no stranger to reality TV. She co-starred with Nicole Richie in Simple life, which aired for five combined seasons on Fox and E !, between 2003 and 2007. In 2020, she was the subject of the original YouTube documentary It’s Paris, which has received nearly 22 million views to date.

In addition to Paris in love, the nascent streamer has given the green light to two more alternate series: True story, a six-part hybrid series in which “everyday Americans sit down with Ed Helms and Randall Park to share their most extraordinary and unbelievably true stories for the first time.” As the stories unfold, events come to life with humor by a cast of star-studded comedians and actors in dramatic re-enactments heightened with cinematic proportions.

Also on tap is The Dance Pop Siwa Revolution (working title), “who will follow mum Jessalynn Siwa and pop superstar daughter JoJo Siwa as they create and launch a whole new group that will become the next big sensation in pop music.”

Peacock’s unscripted slate also includes the recently announced announcement Unidentified with Demi Lovato (where Lovato tries to prove the existence of aliens), The end is Nye (by executive producer Seth MacFarlane and hosted by Bill Nye) and frog (a new game show based on the classic arcade game). The premiere dates have yet to be announced.
