ALEXANDRIA — For the second year in a row, the Alexandria Lakes Area Talent Show will perform acts at the Alexandria Area High School Performing Arts Center on Thursday, April 14 at 7 p.m.
According to Mark Halvorson, Director of Performing Arts, audiences can expect to see a variety of seven performances. Like a classic piano rendition, acapella vocals, original property playback, auto-choreographed dances, an original rap song, and a vocal duet.
Alexandria Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce Dollars will be awarded to the top three performances of the evening. $300 for first place, $200 for second place and $100 for third place.
Typically, the show’s judges—Chuck Grussing, Dave Holtz, and Paulette Friday—wrote the top 10 auditions to perform on the show. However, this year only seven acts submitted auditions compared to last year’s 25, so all of them will be performing.
The show will take place at the AAHS Performing Arts Center located at 4300 Pioneer Rd SE on Thursday, April 14 at 7 p.m. and is expected to last over an hour.
Unlike last year, there will be no live stream of the show online. The show will be performed entirely in front of a live audience.
Tickets for the event are $15 for adults and $8 for students and can be purchased at the door, over the phone by calling 320-762-3310 ext. 2 or online at www.alexschools.org.pac.
The talent show is made possible by Alexandria Public Schools Community Education and Elden’s Fresh Foods.
