Veronicas Launch UNDSCVRD: Jess & Lisa’s New TikTok Talent Show

Weeks after the tragic death of their beloved mother, the Veronicas take their first step back in the limelight.

Australian pop duo The Veronicas is back in the limelight today after the tragic death of their mother last month.

Twin sisters Lisa and Jessica Origliasso lost their beloved mother Colleen on September 3, after a long battle with progressive supranuclear palsy.

The grieving sisters got back to work in a matter of weeks – filming a new talent show UNSCSVRD, a Samsung docu series that premiered on TikTok today at 3 p.m., featuring five young aspiring artists handpicked by the girls themselves.

Talk to Kyle and Jackie O this morning, Lisa and Jessica shared with fans how they got along in the weeks following their mother’s death.

“She’s been our inspiration and our hero for so long, and that hasn’t changed… we’ve had two lovely weeks where we were able to take care of her,” Jessica said. “Whatever we do now, our angel above is watching over us, and we are very grateful.

“It’s such a profound experience to see someone go beyond. We are very spiritual people, and this is a new relationship that we have. It’s finding new ways to love and connect with someone – we feel it so strongly; we feel it all around us.

Fans will have a better chance to see a lot more of The Veronicas as the UNSCVRD unfolds over the next few weeks. The sisters act as industry mentors for the five young artists selected for the series, helping them create their own singles and accompanying music videos. And, unlike so many TV shows, the five contestants will retain full ownership of their musical masters and the content produced.

The winner will then develop a five-track EP produced by James Angus, marketing and promotional support, and also open for The Veronicas at their sold-out concerts in Melbourne in January.

The five participating candidates are self-taught Perth muso Taigh Wade, Sydney singer / songwriter Jade Stegbauer, Sydney singer / songwriter Jordyn Richards, Melbourne rapper Felix ‘Checko’ Pacheco and Melbourne R&B singer Rhian Aoun.

UNDSCVRD will monitor their progress throughout the competition with updates on TikTok every day at 3 p.m., culminating in a live concert final where the big winner will also be announced.
